Our School

Why Us?

Tutor Time of Medford has been caring for children in the community since 1996. We have a great reputation and that is the direct result of the amazing care our dedicated and compassionate teachers provide every day.

All of our teachers are CPR and First Aid certified, they have been fingerprinted and their backgrounds have been checked. Our teachers have either a CDA, Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree or are currently working on their degrees. They receive ongoing monthly training in early education.

We have separate classrooms and playgrounds for each age group, and an awesome room called the Tutor Towne™ Village that enhances childrens creativity and role-playing.

We create a learning atmosphere ideal for early childhood education and a learning environment that provides a climate for physical, social and intellectual growth. Our classrooms have a primary focus on math, science, handwriting, reading readiness, computers and art. Our goal is to foster childrens self-esteem and help them develop a life-long love of learning.

And because we know security is so important, we are proud to have the safe and sound security system that allows access to our school. Safety is paramount to us at Tutor Time of Medford.

Kathy & Lou Liguori, Franchise Owners

Tutor Time of Middle Island and Tutor Time of Medford

Kathy and Lou Liguori have cared for thousands of boys and girls since they opened their first Tutor Time child care center in 1996, while raising two sons of their own. Today, with Tutor Time Centers in Medford and Middle Island, Kathy and Lou support parents in enhancing the academic and social development, nutrition, and well-being of 350 children each year. It is a responsibility they love and for which they are well-suited.

The facilities are beautiful, appointed with state-of-the-art security equipment, well-maintained and operated with efficiency. This is primarily Lou’s role, and his goal is to make a world-class facility affordable through a well-run operation. Lou is also a member of the Smithtown School Board of Trustees, and in 2010 was elected to serve his second term.

Kathy works with the parents, staff and children to deliver her vision. She believes excellent, affordable early childhood development and education is the engine of Long island’s growth and success. She’s doing her part to ensure that the Tutor Time of Medford and Middle Island Centers are responsive to the needs of the parents and children in their communities. She and her Center Directors develop programs and services to accommodate working parents and grandparents.

Kathy’s advocacy for children’s and parents’ needs is well known and recognized in Suffolk County and in New York State. She was awarded the 2010 Child Care Advocate of the Year Award from the Child Care Council of Suffolk. She is Vice Chair of the Welfare to Work Commission of the Suffolk County Legislature and commissioner designee of childcare.

Kathy and Lou are featured in the NYS Small Business Development Center’s “Hall of Fame.”
